The Curtain Call

This course was informative on my journey to the masters degree. The course consisted of a detailed public relations plan that demonstrated an in-depth understanding of the knowledge taught for this degree program. This thesis allowed me to construct and design a paper on my capstone client. The paper allotted the opportunity to demonstrate technical skills, research skills, and writing skills. The course was a collect collection effort of researched information  that had been gathered over the courses taken for the degree. This examination of the client chosen prepared me for future clients and what would be needed to further the brand. 

    The initial goal I came into the course with was to gain an understanding of the layout for this project. The guidance that was received from the professor was lucrative for growth as a PR professional. Moreover, I was able to use media outreach and engagement efforts to build a campaign for the client using the data gathered. The public relations plan will be effectively implement for the client to reach goals.

    The field of public relations is evolving at an unprecedented pace. Amid these shifts, there are growing opportunities for experienced professionals to emerge as dynamic leaders who can successfully navigate their organizations through these changes. 

The Entry approaching the Finish

This course I must say was interesting and quite a challenge because is was a lot of reading as well as writing. I enjoyed the lengthy discussion but it did become a bit tedious. We address the building of an online media room that consisted of components that pertained to the capstone clients we have worked on. It was interesting to learn the process by exploring different websites comparing the news rooms. We discussed the difference in readability, Layout design, the proper use of space and incorporating relevant material on a consistent basis. How the lack of the mentioned components can hinder the website.

As a PR professional I learned that owned media is not limited the videos, white papers, tweets and other content you produce; it also includes the multimedia platforms. These platforms host the media that you display and stream in order to get a message across. Public relations has always been an exercise in listening and earning media. I believe that knowledge I gain from this course and the previous courses that I have take will help me in the journey in become effecting as a PR professional.

Reputation Management Worth It

The original goals I had concerning reputations management strategies were to further understand how to maintain a positive reputation with for your company, also the steps needed to be successful. Next I would say that I wanted to understand the proper communication needed when dealing with the press.  Lastly, I want to learn how to address social threats in the even that they arise. I believe that goals I set out to accomplish were met.

The 3 takeaways that provide significant information are the Crisis Communication team,  The crisis communication plan, and the crisis management . I believe that these topics are beneficial for  progression in my career. Prior to this class was unfamiliar with these terms nor functions. The crisis communication team was interesting to understand that there are people assigns to different roles in the event of a crisis. These components are crucial to a companies bounce back. 

The course has shown the importance of monitoring and responding  to changes that impact organizational initiatives and how long-term strategic communication can benefit a company reputation.I believe that what I have gained from this course will allow me the opportunity to be effective as a PR professional.  The course allowed to translating this information into effective planning and decision-making to better my client. 

Event Marketing and Production

The Class has covered an array of topics which makes responding this question so broad. As a public relations professional being able create thematic event to generate buzz, build excitement, and stir interest for their professional community. This was an interesting take away because we went thought every component in the setup to develop an event that would benefit the client we chose.

Press conferences, and digital media plays a critical role in ensuring that events are well publicized and organized. Events Marketing and Production we also explored support PR efforts and how these events generate awareness for their clients and/or company.

My goal for media relations was to understand the functions of media. The media environment in todays world has tremendously impacted the public.The process was intriguing and I believe I am leaving  with additional  information  that can be utilize.

I learned how to manage a news coverage response to a crisis. Public relations professional develop skills for  a press conference. This course is vital to any PR professional looking sharpen their tools.

The relationship that a company or organization develops and educates the media on your business enough to interest them in doing a story, and as  a result, educate the general public on the services your business provides.As a PR professional  focuses solely on the relationship between the company and the media.

Mastery Journal Consumer

The Market and Consumer Research Analysis course allotted the ability to examine various professional public relations and marketing resources to identify their market, competition, and consumer. Coming into this course the goal was to gain information that would help with career development.  Learning how to target public relations campaigns to attract desired client will beneficial to the maturation as a PR professional. Capturing and retrieving demographic and industry data using a variety of tools ranging from surveys and focus groups to public data, third-party web metrics proved to be challenging. The research was a task trying to decipher relevance.  However, later understood that research methods will give the most accurate results.

Developing buyer personas helped to visualize a human rather than aiming for an abstract idea. It was beneficial to be able to see the image that represented the target market for the client. Understanding their needs, several departments can gear their support for a brand or client. The in knowledge acquire will be lucrative and applied.

IPR and MY Future

Innovative public relation tools and resources was an interesting yet challenging course that I attended.  Upon entering  the class I expected to explore new media techniques and technologies. There was a need to further understand  how to utilize the correct social media platforms in order to solve different communication problems.  

  Innovative Public Relations I learned from the Gary V presentation how valuable  attention to a brand.  We covered proper tracking and metrics for a campaign over popular social networks (Facebook), real-time media (Twitter), and content sharing (YouTube, Flickr). I learned that having content that the these three elements emotions, share-ability, and roll-out strategy can cause a campaign  to go viral.

The course provided an understanding of the properties of each platform. The tactical and strategic problems each technology addresses in the context of a PR campaign. The knowledge  obtained  will allow effective PR to be provided to my future clients as well as my own personal  brand. 

Tools For The Trade

My three expectations upon entering the course was to gain new information that I could use to further my career. I believed that the course would provide me new tools and a better understanding of Publication because the previous course dealt strongly with the legal aspects of public relations. I felt that this course would get a more in-depth look at the inner workings of the world of Public relations. Honestly, I feel INNOVATIVE PUBLIC RELATIONS TOOLS AND RESOURCES provided the necessary information that was needed to excel. The course was so informative that submitting three things would be a disservice to the course, However, the three lessons that stood out was the presentation we watched by Gary V titled online rockstars. The information he provided was crucial to any Public Relations professional career. He talked about hand to hand arbitrage, I also feel that learning different ways to plan a social media strategy and lastly the use of posting tools like Hootsuite. I believe that the formation gathers from this course will help with my judgment of using the right platform to gain awareness for my brand. I think that this something very essential as a PR professional. Using the right platform can also your brand to travel to the proper demographics to get the right responses. I feel that for a platform to work for you, it relies on knowing the trends as well what works for you as a PR professional if your strength is writing or video playing to your strengths will cultivate the exact response.
